Tropical Storm Hanna is currently dumping inches of rain on Maryland and the surrounding areas. If you have been in the region in the last 12 hours, you’re well aware of this already.
The good news is that the national weather service is predicting Hanna will be north of the area by tomorrow morning, making way for lots of sun and unseasonably high temperatures. Tomorrow’s gametime forecast: clear skies and 85 degrees. Yikes.
Really, though, this is a huge deal. The last thing this team needs while sending a tandem of rookies at quarterback and running back onto the field is for Mother Nature to play her own tricks. The winds might still be moving a bit - between 10 and 20mph throughout the afternoon - but the field should be plenty dry. In addition, there is no way the Ravens would even consider sending beat-up stars like McGahee, Heap and others out in a downpour. It’s just not smart.
So, as little as it may seem - know that tomorrow the rain will be gone, making way for great tailgating and a slightly smoother road for the Ravens in the season opener.
Lucky for the Terps, too, who are in Tennessee this weekend while they try to fix their offensive woes before facing Cal next Saturday.

Today’s camp saw the presence of the 30 and older crowd, in the likes of Ray Lewis, Chris McAlister and Derrick Mason. And they didn’t disappoint. We’ve racked up 40 new video clips of today’s practice for your viewing pleasure. My favorite of the day? The botched snap that nearly resulted in a touchdown.

I’ll be interviewing Arizona Cardinals tight end Ben Patrick tonight. Patrick was signed to the Arizona Cardinals practice squad last September, after being cut from the roster less than a week earlier. He was promoted to the active roster on October 29. Patrick finished the 2007 season playing in 8 games with 3 games started with 7 receptions for 73 yards, including a long of 21 yards, for two touchdowns. If you have any questions for Ben, email them before 7:00 pm EST.
