Ray Rice a Raven Too

Ray Rice, the tough and reliable running back out of Rutgers, is the Ravens’ second-round selection, at pick 55.

Rice, the 5-foot-9, 205 pound player, came out of college as a junior, yet still had more carries than his fellow position players in the draft. His team leadership and talent brought him wide consideration for the Heisman trophy in both 2006 and 2007 seasons.

His final college game may signal the skill he’ll provide the Ravens in the coming years. In the International Bowl, versus Ball State, he ran for a school record 280 yards, including four touchdowns.

Joe Flacco, Not Shane Falco, Coming to Baltimore

I admit that over the last few weeks, every time I heard the name Joe Flacco, I immediately thought of Shane Falco, the bad boy turned good, winning (albeit, fictional) quarterback of The Replacements.

And, why not? The movie was, after all, filmed in Baltimore.

But, it is Joe Flacco, the 6-foot-6, 236-pound quarterback out of Delaware, who will be coming to Baltimore. And his arrival, could signal the end of a quarterback curse that has plagued the Ravens since, well, since the Ravens existed.

Well, Now That Lent’s Over…

Alright, so… apologies for the bit of a sabbatical on the part of our little One Winning Drive crew, but we’re back now and ready to get going again!
