Game Reaction: Steelers Fans
Written by Danielle October 1st, 2008Here’s a snippet of some of the comments from fans of the Pittsburgh Steelers over at McMillen and Wife and Steeler Nation. The Steelers won the game in overtime, but are Steeler fans content? Find out and keep reading.
I am going to brutally honest here for a few minutes, we had no business winning that game last night. I am glad we did win but I am not my usual happy self after such a win, I find myself rather in a pissed off, bad mood and I am going to tell you why, and I am not going to candy coat a thing.
I think first thing to comment on is very simple, I am not sold and never have been sold on the hiring of Tomlin and the move for Arians to Offensive Genius as he thinks he is. Will anything change my mind ? Honestly, I highly doubt it.
Last night we got a gift from that Raven TD that called back and they had to settle for 3.
Nothing has changed, nothing got fixed, you can’t fix an Offensive Line nor the Offensive Play Calling in 1 week, seriously do they think we are complete idiots ? Who’s blowing the smoke here ? Just because you Mr. Arians made a press statement during this pack week that you accept full blame for what happened during the Eagle Game really means shit to me, your not doing your job and your risking injury to Ben and the Other Key Players, example from last night was our Rookie RB, Mendenhall …. You freakin kept pounding him up the middle, up the middle into one of the more physical defensive lines and no wonder why he ended up breaking his shoulder, do you have any other plays to call ? You did shit this week to improve, I am not buying into your lame ass excuses anymore, maybe you guys can buy into what he has been syaing, but not me …. This guy is a complete jerk-off in my book ….. Do we really need him ? Are we going to continue to run with his play calling or will Tomlin have the balls to tell Ben to go ahead and do your thing. Last night if you were watching the game closely, Ben got sacked a few times, the line had a problem yet again, keeping him safe in the pocket …. If it was not for Ben being able to run up and over in the pocket, we would have seen many more sacks last night than we did …… You know this is the truth !

We win the division by default. Stains and Bungholes are no threat. The ratbirds have already had their “bye” week which means their last 15 games are played without a break. The defense although good is a little long of tooth and this team will plummet at the middle to end of the season. We are AFC North Champs and can go as far as BA allows us.

This team just isn’t that good. No way should a rookie coach and a rookie QB come in and take us to over time in our house. This team is banged up and just physically isn’t good enough up front.

I think Flacco looked good. The fans should have brought some more noise down on the Rook. It seemed like they were all just sittin on their hands for the first half…WTH ?

As much as I hate him, Ray Lewis impressed the hell outta me last night. That goal-line stand, that resulted in us kicking a short field goal, was all him. And he was legitimately in on 80% of the tackles last night. I’m also thankful for his brain-fart that allowed Moore to gallop 20+ yards after his catch in overtime, putting us well within Jeff Reed’s range.

I will say this about Joe Flacco. He’s no Big Ben, but I do believe the Ravens have finally found their franchise QB. He is and will prove to be much better than the Elvis Grbac, Chris Redman, & Kyle Boller experiments.
